hi, i'm
Harley.
Askew-Gibson on paper, Gibbo to most people.
into tech, Minecraft and figuring out how things work.
i'm an IT apprentice at Gala Tent, training as a Digital Support Technician. i finished A Levels in Computer Science and Economics plus a CTEC in IT, then chose an apprenticeship over a uni place to learn on the job. i like spotting boring manual jobs and building something to automate them.

2026A Level Computer Science NEA · solo project
a web app for tracking physical stock, built for small businesses, school clubs and personal inventories. it was my A Level Computer Science NEA and entirely my own work: i interviewed stakeholders, studied tools like Zoho Inventory and Odoo, then designed, built, tested and documented it across 300+ pages.
show detailshide details
- secure logins: bcrypt-hashed passwords, expiring session tokens and one-time backup codes
- a first-login setup flow for new users: new password, theme, profile picture and backup codes
- a customisable dashboard with live stock figures and drag-and-drop tiles
- a stock ledger that logs every movement with a reason and never lets stock go below zero
- low-stock alerts, CSV import and a search across names, SKUs, descriptions and categories
- built over 10 prototypes, tested with normal, boundary and invalid data at every stage

idea and design · built with AI · 2026
at my office job i spent a lot of time scanning and filing site paperwork by hand, so i came up with a tool to do it: scan a document, read the text, pull out the key details and file it in the right place. i designed how it should work and directed AI tools to write the code.

AloraMCa Minecraft server network i founded and co-ran with a volunteer team.2021 to 2026founder, later co-owner · 2021 to 2026
a Minecraft server network i started on my own and later rebuilt with a co-founder. the first, small version taught me hosting and plugin setup and led to my admin role at Just an Earth Server. the final version was in development for over three years with a volunteer team, until we decided in september 2026 to close it rather than launch something we weren't happy with.
- co-led a volunteer team of around 12 admins, developers and builders for over three years
- designed ranks and permissions in LuckPerms, with per-player tags that carried through to in-game menus and HUDs
- picked plugins by checking they were still maintained, dropping an economy plugin abandoned for three years for a supported one
- set up server-wide leaderboards tracking detailed player stats, not just playtime
Minecraftserver adminleadershiphome laba Raspberry Pi home server and a game streaming setup between rooms.2026
personal project · 2026
my playground for learning infrastructure. a Raspberry Pi 4 runs Docker containers for network-wide ad blocking, home automation and secure remote access. i also set up 60fps game streaming between two rooms with Sunshine and Moonlight, including routing the audio.

design · built with AI · 2026
this site. i designed it and put it together with help from AI tools. it was a good excuse to learn how modern websites are built.
